Tribute to Sharron Byrne

It was with sadness and shock I learned of the passing of Sharron Byrne this past weekend, who featured wonderfully in the 2014 run of Sitting Up for Michael in the White Bear. When I was having casting difficulties, she ably stepped up to the female lead and won plaudits for her performances from all sectors of the audience (one reviewer was taken aback when he heard her speak in her natural London accent, as he had assumed that the northern Irish accent she had adopted was her own). And every evening after the performance we would stay in the front bar until the wee hours celebrating or consoling the night's performance. She will be missed.
